In co-production with Bananeira Filmes, Cena Dois, 99 Produções (Brazil)

"País do Desejo" tells the story of a renowned classical pianist who battles with chronic kidney disease. Roberta (Maria Padilha) dedicates herself to music with discipline and passion. During a trip, on what could be her last tour, Roberta becomes ill and faints during a concert. Admitted to a clinic, Roberta meets Father José (Fábio Assunção), parish priest of the Church of Santo Agostinho, extremely involved with the community, located in a rural sugarcane area close to the capital. From this encounter onwards, Father José's family starts to have a fundamental importance in the story, since his father (Dr. Orlando – Germano Haiut) and his brother (César – Gabriel Braga Nunes) are doctors and owners of the Kidney Clinic. , in which Roberta is hospitalized. Themes such as family, love, celibacy, medicine and church mix. Despite being a contemporary drama, País do Desejo has a light tone, close to comedy.
