WITH

Lúcia Murat

Born in Rio de Janeiro, Lúcia Murat was a member of the armed struggle during the most difficult times of the military dictatorship in Brazil (1968-1979). Having been arrested and tortured in prison, all her work is strongly influenced by this experience.

Her feature film Que Bom Te Ver Viva (1989) is a compendium of stories, accounts and memories of her time in prison. In 2004, she returned to the theme with Quase Dois Irmãos, which won her the Best Ibero-American Film Award from the official jury and Best Film from the popular jury at the Mar del Plata International Film Festival.

In 2011, she won several awards at the Gramado Film Festival with the film Uma Longa Viagem. In 2013 she released A Memória que me Contam.
