Every year, four ex-commandos get together in the company of four women to commemorate their war exploits and solidify their group spirit. In that summer of 1985, fed up with the country's dullness, they decide to rob a bank. Joaquim Malarranha, a judicial police inspector on the verge of retirement, crosses their path and, ironically, ends up playing guitar in one of their fado houses.
