Once the fear was overcome, Elva opened her home and her prayers to us, a secret and profound message that she had hidden inside her. Elva spoke, looking us in the eye, revealing her sorrow and her face until her voice conquered the images and us with them. From that impulse this film was born, a letter whispered from the heart, a story full of life and resistance, dignity and decency.

The Directors
Group of directors from different countries with varied and extensive experience in cinema. Among them they have produced several features and short films that have been shown in some of the most relevant film festivals in the world. The film “Woman Like Tree” (“Mulher como árvore”) ends up being a reflection of the very different realities of the directors and of their generational and artistic disparities. Elva united this unlikely group and gave them a common goal: to make her a film. Filmmakers are:
